I had to go to the doctor today

I have had a fever for a couple days and mommy took me to the doctor yesterday.
I had a virus that caused an ear infection. They also think I am allergic to something...maybe red dye. Mommy is limiting my foods to try to figure out what is causing me to break out. I am taking medicine for my ear ache and it tastes good! I am feeling better today.

Today I had another party at Nannie and Papaw's house

I had a Diego Party at Nannie's house today. Kiera, Sami, Chloe and Taylor came to my party. We played games, ate cake and opened presents. I got a lawnmower, clifford truck, train puzzle, race car set, ball and bat, and lots more.

I had a party at Granny & Poppies

I have been spending a lot of time at Granny and Poppies house this week. Today they had a birthday party for me.

It's my FIRST Birthday!

Today is my first birthday. The day started off with a trip to the doctor to get my 1 year shots. That wasn't fun. But I found out that I weigh 25 pounds and 8 ounces. Mommy forgot to ask how tall I am, though. I'm in the 50th percentile in most everything.

Today, we're going to go out to eat with Nana, Grandfather and Matthew. We're probably going to go to Marshall Cafe. That's where we went on Kiera's last birthday, too. Kiera and Daddy are making me some cupcakes for my little party tonight. My big party is going to be this weekend. We're going to go to see Granny and Poppy and Nannie and Papaw. Granny and Poppy are giving me a party on Friday night and Nannie and Papaw are giving me a party on Saturday. My party theme is going to be "Rainforest Animals / Go, Diego! Go!"

I am taking steps

Over Memorial Day weekend uncle Brandon worked with me and had me taking 5 or 6 steps...and now I can walk any time I want to...but most of the time it is faster if I crawl.

I also have 3 more teeth...the top two right teeth came in and now I have one left front tooth.

I had my first real haircut at Walmart and I didn't like it at all.

I love to play with cars and take them up and down the furniture. I also like to play with anything my big sister is playing with...and she doesn't like it at all...she puts things up where I can't get them and I get really mad.

I Can Climb!

Over the weekend, I have learned that I can climb the stairs. So, now that is my main goal in life... to get to the stairs and get up them before Mommy, Daddy or Nana realize what I'm doing.

I also have started to make an effort toward talking. I can say mama and dada and nana when I want to. I'm also trying to say "roll" (when we play pat-a-cake) and "bottle" (I actually say "ba"). Mommy's also trying to get me to say sissy's name and "duck".

My 8 Month Accomplishments

I am 8 months old now, and I'm changing a lot! I have finally decided that I can crawl. I don't crawl on my hands and knees, though. I crawl on my hands, one foot and drag the other leg behind me. I'm also pulling up on everything. I can stand momentarily by myself and I have been caught sitting up from a lying position.

I also have cut my second tooth, so I now have both of my front bottom teeth.

Mommy and Nana are working on getting me to start saying "mama" and "nana". I'm not cooperating, though.

My favorite food now is either Cheerios or Gerber Puffs. If they are sitting in view, I won't eat anything else. Other than that, I like green beans if they're mixed with rice and chicken. I'll eat almost anything that is yellow, and most other fruits. I also really like yogurt. I'm on formula now, too. I'm taking it pretty well.

We're moving into our new house at the end of the week, and I'm not too excited. Mommy and Daddy say that when we move, I have to start sleeping in my own bed. I'm not looking forward to that. I like cuddling up with Mommy and kicking Daddy in the back.
